Ants-size is no problem for them!

A lonely ant lay injured in the soil. It was writhing and squirming in pain as it tried its best to get back on its feet. I didn’t think it could get up on his own and therefore decided to help. I took a piece of stick and just when I reached out to turn it over I saw an ant quickly making its way up to it. It came near it, looked at it for a while, then moved away and began circling around, wildly, as if in distress. I was completely shocked at its behavior! I had never thought that ants could have so many feelings and have the ability to be so concerned about it’s own kind! More surprises were to come from these little creatures:

After it’s little mourning the ant quickly contacted neighboring ants and soon help was on its way. In about ten minutes, a long line of ants was quickly making their way towards the wounded ant. There were some big-sized ants in the line too (which, to me, looked like ambulances). As soon as they reached the wounded little critter they organized themselves, divided their work and soon the ant was being carried away to the ant-hospital.

Looking at the littlest creatures of the world, I have to say, that they are the ones who have truly understood the meaning importance of ‘unity’. Unlike us, they made sure that they are always united and inseparable. By us, I do not mean all people of the world – though I have referred ‘us’ to be humans in the first paragraph, my actual reference was towards the ‘Muslim ummah’.

The Muslim ummah really needs to learn a lesson from ants. How organized were these ants that I doubt even ten or twenty bigger bugs could have been able to kill and suppress them. They are strong creatures, who, despite their little size make sure that they are united and well organized. They realize their strength is not in their number but rather in their ability to stay together. On the other hand, we Muslims, have a completely different belief. We think strength can be achieved by making boundaries and barriers within the Muslim ummah. That’s why we make sure that we divide ourselves into groups –and if that is not enough – into further sections, sub-groups and so on. I just have to ask: why do we do this when Allah has ordered us to stay united? Allah says in the Quran:

“And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah's favour on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth Allah make His Signs clear to you: That ye may be guided.” ( Surah Aal-e-Imran , verse no.103)

“Be not like those who are divided amongst themselves and fall into disputations after receiving Clear Signs: For them is a dreadful penalty, - (Surah Aal-e-Imran : verse no.105)”

I also observed that ants really value their fellow ants. Just look at how quickly they came to the assistance of that wounded ant! However, in the Muslim world, we are out to get each other. We kill each other for honor, money, power or just because the person does not think and believe what we think and believe. I don’t want to sound like a pessimistic, but it true!

Not only that, but we don’t want to sacrifice anything for the lives of our brothers and sisters! Not even Pepsi or other Jewish franchises! We cannot even swallow our food if it is not accompanied by big gulps of the enemy-manufactured soft drink! In short, we are not ready to do anything to assist our brothers and sisters. We find it much easy to just sit back and criticize our enemy’s attacks! Why don’t we ever think that whomever we are criticizing is not going to stop…they are brutal killers who do not feel that we have a right to live. They are our enemies and we cannot expect them to have pity on us. Allah has asked us to establish peace with them but it only as long as they remain peaceful with us. But if they show hostility we are to reply back with equal force as Allah says in the Quran:

“O ye who believe! when ye meet the Unbelievers in hostile array, never turn your backs to them.”(Surah Anfal verse no:15)

(Surah Anfal Verse no:60-65):

8:61 "Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly."

8:61 "But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in Allah: for He is One that heareth and knoweth (all things).”

8:62 "Should they intend to deceive thee,- verily Allah sufficeth thee: He it is That hath strengthened thee with His aid and with (the company of) the Believers;"

8:63 "And (moreover) He hath put affection between their hearts: not if thou hadst spent all that is in the earth, couldst thou have produced that affection, but Allah hath done it: for He is Exalted in might, Wise."

8:64. "O Prophet! sufficient unto thee is Allah,- (unto thee) and unto those who follow thee among the Believers."

8:65. "O Prophet! rouse the Believers to the fight. If there are twenty amongst you, patient and persevering, they will vanquish two hundred: if a hundred, they will vanquish a thousand of the Unbelievers: for these are a people without understanding."

… and Allah says in Surah Taubah:

“But if they violate their oaths after their covenant, and taunt you for your Faith,- fight ye the chiefs of Unfaith: for their oaths are nothing to them: that thus they may be restrained.” (Surah Taubah verse no.12)

“And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah altogether and everywhere; but if they cease, verily Allah doth see all that they do.” If they refuse, be sure that Allah is your Protector - the best to protect and the best to help.” (Surah Anfal verse no.39-40)

So, if they are killing and oppressing our people, it is our duty to unite and fight back. Many of the Muslim rulers are turning a blind eye and refusing to assist fellow Muslims, but we shouldn’t. We can do something to help our people!

I think the first and the most important step is to correct our ways and follow all that has been ordained by Allah and His Prophet Rasool Allah p.b.u.h (sall lal laho alehe wassalum). Secondly, we need to organize and give up all the things manufactured by our enemies. If we do that, inshAllah, we might be able to prevent the manufacture of (Allah-knows) how many bombs. Who knows, the next time you spend money on any of their products, it may be used to manufacture a bomb that might be dropped on our Muslims brothers and sisters or even onto you!

As for me, sitting only 500-600 km from Lebanon, in Tabuk Saudi Arabia, there is a chance of helping those across the border– even if it means I’ll have to leave a tasty drink.

P.S :Please give this post a thought...
