Day: July 22nd 2006
Time: 1:30 a.m.
Abeer: It’s been an hour since the cockroach disappeared under the cupboard but there has been no sign of him yet…
Amal (my youngest sister): *handing Abeer a mug a coffee* Here’s your 3rd mug of coffee Abeer.
Ameera: This cannot go any longer…
Abeer: Don’t worry… we’ll pull through the night… we’ve got a couple of chocolate bars left…
Amal * her eyes are open like headlights and she is muttering repeatedly *: Must stay awake…must stay awake… must remain in a state of ‘Mad eye Moody’s constant vigilance’.
Ameera: Maybe he’s dead. You know, abba was saying that he got a very good blast of the cockroach-killer.
Abeer: I'm not going to sleep without confirming he is dead! Once we're asleep, he might just call up all his freinds and take over our house! I wouldn't want to get up in the morning to find the ice-cream box empty!
Amal: I guess we'll have to force him out! *She put her hands together pretending to be speaking in a microphone* Mr.Cockroach! We've got you surrounded! Do not try to escape or we'll arrange another meeting between you and the Cockroach-killer!
Ameera: He's bound to come out now!
Abeer: Does anyone know Cockaracha-tongue?
Time: 2:30 a.m. (2 hours since the Cockroach went under the cupboard)
Narrator: So far the ‘Three Strange Sisters’ have had five cups of coffee each and finished the chocolate box. But it has not been enough to drive away their sleep. However, the sisters think that this too is the work of the cockroach. They believe that the Cockroach asked his friends, at the factory, to inject a sleeping draught into the their chocolate box.
*In an undertone*: Who came up with this stuff! This is crazy! I’ll go crazy reading this!
*Thinking to himself* Why did I ever sign up for stupid reality show! It is crazy… I’m just going to take my share of cookies and get out of here! The Cookie monster can find herself another narrator!
3:30 a.m.: lights off! (As the narrator had quit from the show the ‘Three Strange Sisters’ decided that it was time the show ended.)
3:30 a.m.: Everyone in the house is asleep 3:31 a.m.: The Cockroach quietly creeps out from under the cupboard…
Cockroach: Curious about what happens next? Well, if you are, you’ll just have to wait and find out in the next episode of ‘Catastrophe for the Cockroach.’ I've changed that last episode a bit... but I think my ending is better than the Cookie monster's!
