Happy Independence Day!
12:00. Karachites bolt and airtight their windows and doors so that they can sleep at night. This is a measure taken to avoid the ‘celebrations’ of our independence day because the people of our country have a twisted way of celebrating it. As soon as the clock strikes twelve motorcycle silencers are removed so as to give way to sweet melodious tunes. Yes…yes… that sweet, sweet rhythmic “Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…..Phaaattar Phaattar” of a motorcycle without a silencer is so sweet to the ear. The motorcycles go up and down the road coughing and growling. Aaaahh…how can we ever live without it? Noise pollution. Sweet, sweet noise pollution! We Karachites just love it…
It is a must to make sure people know what a civilized nation we are. Our ways and tastes are unique. We just love and cherish the ‘Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr… Phut-Phut-Phut-Phut’ of the motorcycle! Aaah…sweet, sweet noise pollution. Happy Independence Day!
